River Information
The Guadalupe River is where you can relax while having fun. The Guadalupe River is one of the most visited rivers in Texas. The part of the Guadalupe River most often used for recreational activities is the section between Canyon Dam and New Braunfels.
River tubing is one of the most popular activities you will find at the Guadalupe River. Enjoy a laugh with friends and family as you depend on the current to guide you in your inner tube to your destination. The Guadalupe River is also a magnificent place for kayaking, canoeing, and rafting. The river’s flow fluctuates often with the water release rate from the Canyon dam turbines. Normally the flow is usually between 100 and 300 cubic feet per second (cfs). (That rate provides you with optimum floating conditions!) As you steadily travel downstream, you can admire the unique limestone banks of the Guadalupe River which are shaded by bald cypress and pecan trees. There are also a number of beautiful cabins on the Guadalupe River which makes for a peaceful weekend on the Guadalupe River.
